WOAH is that you humming in the beginning, those samples had so much character dude and the drums are structured really well. That high tone synth pluck goes in super well and those delayed pianos later on just add SOO MUCH to the vibe but it's not used until the end and there lacks variation in the main sections.

I feel like you could of put more character in the texture, tones, and the general sound of your instruments. Which simply could be playing with some more effects to wet up the overall mix.

Now let me get a littl more indepth about the structuring, there feels like a weird conflict between what you're trying to convey here. This song is structured like a dance track with drops and that makes me feel like I should get up and start getting down but the overall energy of the tracks " heavy dark " tones don't really support that feelin so theres this clash. You know what I'm saying? Like that airy synth's pitch doesn't really gell well enough with the rest of the song to me, its too repetitive. I think just shifting the pitch a little would help that out a lot.

There's also a lot of mud in the low mids and there's a sub bass leakage into the 20hz that muds up the low end too. Your vocal samples also have a wacky frequency ring that comes out when the song's volume is brought up. I'll send a DM with a lil edit I did to help you hear what I mean.
Hope the lil insights of an audio engi help with future mixes, this song was a good listen.

Thank you for your in depth response! To be honest with you, this one was the first mix. I tried to mix it better a few weeks later and "finish" it, but the song I ended up with sounded cleaner but emptier, and it ruined the feel. The lead was a bad synth from the start, very hard to mix, which is why it sounds quite quiet.

I am bad at picking complimenting instruments, I dont know where to start learning even after 16 years of producing, so a lot of the time I just get lucky, but I wish I had a better ear for this stuff.

I like where this is going. All the sounds and that psytrance beat, but your tracks levels lost all it's dynamics so it's super loud and too distorted. I'd recommend a limiter and compressor to keep it from peaking past 0db. Tame them sounds

I think it'd sound badass with some pr0per mixin

Really good track music wise but the audio is over compressed leaving little to no dynamic range and the sub especially is too much. If you were to put this track on a stage's speakers it'd be way too boomy and the audio guy would have to actually lower the overall volume of the system just to hear your track without it distorting to hell.

Just lower the overall gain on the limiter or whatever compressor you used so it's not a sausage at the drops.

Super creative sound tho.

10/10 interview! congrats guys, it was legendary to meet you fine crickets and watch you grow out of your grassy homes. Excited to see what the future holds.
